Images spread in the afternoon and replicated on social media and news signals reinforced the diagnosis of an escalation of violence in a protest that led to clashes with federal forces and a strong anti-riot deployment. In the sequence, several people are seen taking refuge behind woods and improvised structures while preparing a homemade incendiary device. The dissemination of the video reactivated the political dispute over the nature of the protest and the action of violent infiltrated or minority groups, on a day that combined legislative debate, massive mobilization and incidents in the downtown area. Then, one of the protesters lights it and throws it towards the fence where police officers were located. In parallel, different reports reported injuries among security forces and detentions in the area of the incidents. Police sources indicated that the first cordon was made up of the Argentine Federal Police, while the second and third rings corresponded to the City Police, in a staggered containment scheme around the Legislative Palace. The tension developed simultaneously with the concentration of union columns and political organizations, with the presence of left-wing groups in areas of the plaza and adjacent avenues. The episode occurred while the Government ratified the application of the public order protocol in the parliamentary area and while the arrival of the bulk of the columns was awaited. After the launch, a rapid reaction from the security operation was recorded: advance of the water truck, use of tear gas and rubber bullet shots to disperse those participating in the riots, while attempting to preserve the fenced perimeter of the area.
